The ALEGrO direct current transmission line (Aachen Liège Electricity Grid Overlay) connects Belgium and Germany over approx. 90 km. Various fiber optic cables (single-mode, multimode, and hybrid) were used for its construction. All wires have passed the installer’s (VAN DEN BERG NV) FAT (Factory Acceptance Test).
