Multicore fiber (MCF) is set to become the next generation fiber for applications requiring high information density and it finally transitions from R&D efforts to commercial reality. But for the MCF to coexists with the standard single core fibers and transceivers there needs to be an interface, a so-called fanout (also known as fan-in/fan-out, FIFO). Fibrain offers generally available MCF fanouts with an exceptional performance. Leveraging the 3D-waveguide writing technology, the fanouts exhibit wideband operation, low insertion loss, low crosstalk and good uniformity, all in a very compact form factor.
