Telenor is a Norway company operating in the telecommunciation secton that was established in 1855 as Telegrafverket. It employs 23 000 people , including 12 000 employees beyond the borders of Norway. In 2006 the value of the company on the stock exchange market increased to 125 bn Norwegian krone (approx. 17.4 bn €). The majority of shares is owned by the Norwegian state. The company is also the main owner of Canal Digital platform. The second biggest phone operator in Pakistan belongs to Telenor.
