Traffic information systems rely on extensive fiber-optic networks. Monitoring, breakdown assistance points, and information boards require high-quality fiber-optic cable connections. FIBRAIN provided the necessary solutions for connecting the D1 and D3 motorways in Slovakia.
The D1 motorway is currently nearly 400 km long. It runs from western to eastern Slovakia and is planned to connect the country’s two largest cities – Bratislava and Košice. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2029, with a total length of 512 km. The D3 motorway, in turn, connects Slovakia with Poland at the border in Zwardoń (S1 expressway). The fully completed D3 motorway is planned to relieve traffic on national roads 11 and 12.
